Someone is waiting for his morning bus, but then he doesn’t take it...
The video screen is split between 3 views, each showing a detail of the surroundings that the main character is filtering, from his present and past. The man goes through a series of flashbacks and mental experiences symbolized by the colour of the objects triggering them. The video is set on a London highway, includes manga illustrations and is tied in with a minimalistic soundtrack.
This video is coupled with another production, ‘Automaton’. They represent two juxtaposed paces of breath and explore how consciousness handles the repetitive stream of existence. Both videos are cut in 6 scenes, use the same character, have the same duration, start and end at the same point. They form an installation which is to be played in loops so that the narrated day is constantly repeated. They should be placed so that the viewer can see one video at a time or the two together depending on his position. The soundtracks are made to be complimentary, the viewer should hear a mix of them wherever he stands but could decide to get closer to one of the speakers if he wants to focus his attention to one video. Here is below a draft of what the installation can look like. It is only optional, the videos could also be played alone and not in loops.
